Praying for Our Adult
Sons and Daughters

$11  Purchase After Mass
June 21-22 or at Parish Office

No one ever stops being a mom or a dad. So when our children become adults, we still worry about them—and want to care for them. One way we can care for them is to lift them up in prayer. When we do so, God's love for them-and for us-is unleashed.  We are able to replace our concern with a love that comes from the heart of God. Our Father moves mountains of worry, leaving new hope in its place. Learn to pray for your adult sons and daughters with the kind of power that makes a real difference in matters of the heart.

Lenten Book Study - 2012

Picture
How would you like to meet God?
What if you had the opportunity to encounter God in a very real and
personal way each and every week and build a relationship with him that would carry you through the other six days of the week?
That opportunity exists, and you are invited. It’s called the Mass.

Small Group studies are currently underway.  120 copies have been sold.
Call the parish office to purchase a copy ($5) to read on your own.

From the book, Living the Mass:

"If someone asks you, 'Are you a practicing Catholic?' Chances are you will answer based on whether or not you attend Mass on Sunday.  Now, let's rephrase that question.  'Are you practicing your baptism?'"

"The reason we go to Mass in the first place   is because, through our baptism, we have made a commitment to something and to someone.  Baptism is a commitment to a way of life that needs to be sustained and nourished by celebration of the Eucharist.

This commitment to live as a disciple of Christ is carried out mainly in the time we spend at work and at home, which is the majority of our time.  That is where the Eucharist (the presence of Jesus) is needed most and where we are called to participate in Jesus' ministry."

Get a book today and learn about the different parts of Mass, what Christians are called to do and be, what qualities and skills are needed to live as Christians and how the one hour a week  at Mass can, should and will change your life.

The Catholicism Project

Picture
This past fall and winter over 140 adults participated in one of eight small groups watching the ten video sessions explaining what Catholics believe and why.  Filmed in 50 locations throughout 15 countries, Fr. Robert Barron takes you around the world through 2,000 years of tradition, scripture, lives of saints and teachings of the church to reveal the story of the Catholic Faith.
"Today, the Catholic story is being told in the media, but it's being told
by the wrong people in the wrong way.  We need to tell our story."
  -Fr. Barron

Borrow the DVDs and rediscover the beauty and teachings of our faith!
Better yet - form a small group and we'll provide the DVDs and study guide.

What parishioners are saying:

The videos made me think about my own faith and how to explain my beliefs to others.

I am more excited about my faith—such exciting stories, people and events.
The scenery-magnificent, the music!!

Fr. Barron’s videos make me want to fall in love with Christ. Makes it all more personal.

Great visuals, always moving, a lot of interesting facts and ways to look at
things you "thought" you knew.

I feel like my time here on Wednesday nights is like a prayer time. I leave feeling like my life is in better balance and I’m renewed to do better the next week.
