Why a Pilgrimage?

Pilgrimages stretch us spiritually:  they take us away from our daily comforts and routines. They bring us to holy places, where God is waiting to give us new insights about him and our lives to bestow healing and grace and to rekindle the light of our faith. Then,God sends us forth to dispel the darkness with the rekindled light of his truth and love.

FAQ:
Why a pilgrimage? Pilgrimages stretch us spiritually:  they take us away from our daily comforts and routines. They bring us to holy places, where God is waiting: to give us new insights about him and our lives, to bestow healing and grace and to rekindle the light of our faith. Then, God sends us forth to dispel the darkness with the rekindled light of his truth and love.

What will happen? On the way up, we’ll watch several videos to understand God’s plan for marriage and why it matters. We’ll eat lunch together upon arriving at Holy Hill. Fr. Rick Wendell (from first Christ our Life conference) will share his conversion story and talk on the purpose of our vocation.  From there couples will use the materials given for a self-directed retreat weekend. No more talks, no small groups, no sharing. Just you, your spouse and God. We will come together for a dinner trip to a local restaurant.

What does the $200 include? Motor coach to and from Basilica.  Housing at the monastery. Three meals at the monastery: Saturday Lunch and Sunday Breakfast & Lunch.  Saturday Night Dinner at Fox & Hounds Restaurant. We have a space reserved for our group; our dinner choices:  12oz Ribeye, ½ Rack Baby Back Ribs, Smothered Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. Cash Bar.

Why sign up sooner than later?  The first 14 couples will be given room in the Holy Hill Guest House which have private bathrooms.  Then, there are 12 private rooms in the Old Monastery Inn with shared bathroom facilities.
