Family Life

Family Life

“The future of humanity passes by way of the family”     - Pope John Paul
A family is our first community and the most basic way in which the Lord gathers us, forms us and acts in the world. The basic vocation of every baptized person is the same: “Follow the way of love, even as Christ loved you.”  The Lord issues this call to your family and to every family regardless of its condition or circumstances.

"Make your house,
your family, another Nazareth
where love, peace, joy and unity reign
for love begins at home."
-Mother Theresa

Prayer for Generosity
by St. Ignatius of Loyola

Teach us, Good Lord, To Serve Thee as Thou deservest;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not to ask for any reward,
save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
Through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Fr. Barron comments
on Biblical Family Values
"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone!
Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you today. Drill them into your children. Speak of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest.
Bind them at your wrist as a sign and let  them be as a pendant on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
   Deuteronomy 6:4-8
