“To create and maintain a Christ-centered Catholic community where our personal call to holiness, service and spiritual growth leads to authentic witness as Christians”
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-2
A New Creation
Our Baptism was not for our sake, but for the sake of the world. Through our Baptism, we are joined with all those living and who have gone before us marked by the sign of the faith and claimed through the water for Christ and the mission of His Church.
By our Baptism we are called to "observe all that Christ has commanded us." He calls us to submit our entire lives in obedience of faith to His way, truth and life. Our lives are guided by His living word in Scripture and His Church. This includes all aspects of our lives - our thoughts, words, actions, relationships, political convictions, leisure activities, lifestyle choices and financial decisions.
Total surrender to Christ and His Gospel is not a restriction of our freedom. Rather it is the path to realize His promise of authentic freedom:
"If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31 -32).
