Grandparents: Models, Mentors and Memory-Makers

Every child deserves a grandparent who will love unconditionally, and every grandparent needs the opportunity to love and be loved. While it may not take an entire village to raise a child, it certainly takes a loving family. Grandparents are a crucial ingredient in the family mix. They have a unique connection to their grandchildren and a wealth of gifts, talents and wisdom to share with them.   read more...

A Grandparent's Prayer is Powerful!

Pray for everything.
Pray for them to accept and love Christ.
Pray for His angels to surround them and keep them free from harm.
Pray for wisdom & understanding for the  parents when things look bleak.
Pray with thanksgiving.
Pray with trust.
Pray with joy.

God, our Father, I thank You for the gift of my grandchildren,
and for the privilege of being a grandparent.
Help me pass on to my grandchildren our greatest treasures,
faith in Your truths, hope in Your goodness, love in Your Name for all.
I entrust my grandchildren to Your loving care.
Banish from their homes any bitterness or lack of forgiveness.
Let them have time, deep concern and a sense of sacrifice for one another.
Teach them never to be ashamed that they are, in name and in fact,
a Catholic family striving to live in the way of Jesus, Who is head of their home.
Give us Your Holy Spirit to unite us throughout this life
and let the circle of our family be unbroken in the Kingdom of Your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen
