    ADULTS....
    THANK YOU
    - We couldn't do the week without you!!!

    If volunteering during VBS week...
Those who volunteer or work with youth, must be compliant with diocesan requirements which includes completing an on-line Protecting God's Children video training session and having a background check completed every five years.

Below are descriptions of the volunteer positions:

Service Projects This team leads kids in daily service projects.  Some members of this team will choose the service projects and purchase materials.  Some help with material prep and organizing/decorating their area.  Everyone helps in the service project room during the week of VBS.

Story Telling Team This teams leads each grade level through the daily story and related activities.  A Storytelling booklet will help each team member plan the day’s lesson and gather  the necessary supplies. Adults lead conversations & activities that help kids connect stories to their daily lives.

Nursery Team Help us provide daycare  or adult volunteers with children not old enough to participate in the VBS.  Help us plan some fun activities to do with these kids.  And to join in snacks and opening/closing songs.

    Craft Team
This team leads kids in daily crafts. Volunteers will help in the craft room during the week of VBS.

6th Grade Our 6th graders have a special tract at VBS that is designed for their age group.  It involves a more mature approach to responding to the daily Bible study along with “field trips” in the community to serve others and learn about service taking place in Solon.

    Crew Liaison
The Crew Liaison will be assigned to one crew for the week to follow to each of the rotations. This person will be a support person to the teen Crew Leaders if they are having troubles with a child in their group. They will also keep the Crew Leaders on task (making sure they are helping members in their crew with the activities).
Snacks Each day we will serve a quick snack and drink.  Help  set-up, serve, and clean-up snack time.

Registration Come at 8:00 on Monday to welcome and direct kids into the Hall.

Decorating Help create the design for the entrance area and main hall along with the Bible Story room.  This planning begins in June and projects are created for volunteers to come in throughout summer to do.

AND…  We also need help on the Friday evening prior to VBS to lead teams of youth volunteers in the final decorating.  You can let us know what works for you.

Materials Preparation Can include preparing props & scenery several weeks before VBS and/or preparing crafts and other items needed for VBS. Many projects can be done at home.
