Anne Costa travels from Syracuse, NY. She is a wife, mother, best selling author of six books and a gifted speaker. She shares: "I am an ordinary wife and mother who lives an extraordinary life in Christ thanks to a list of life's second chances.... From my journey back to the Catholic Faith after many years of involvement in New Age practices, through recovery from addiction and experiences of deep loss of loved ones due to miscarriage, suicide, and incurable illness. It is the desire of my heart to offer soul-stirring messages of hope and encouragement to others who are going through seasons of sorrow, confusion or trial." Anne will lead a day of renewal helping women understand, embrace and live their feminine genius. She’ll introduce us to Edith Stein, her “friend & mentor” who helped Anne live her God-given dignity and with a new sense of clarity which transcends our busy lives and many roles women serve. |
Women's Conference Talks by Anne Costa:
TALK 1 "My longing for Truth was a single prayer" Edith Stein is a contemporary saint who deeply understood the role of women in our church and society. She leads us to reflect on the attributes of our feminine souls and has much to teach us about ourselves. Through this talk we will get to know her as a woman, friend and mentor. TALK 2 "Woman KNOW THYSELF!" Embracing our dignity through self-possession and knowledge of how we are fearfully and wonderfully made! As women, we wear many hats these days and there are often conflicting expectations for the roles we play. Edith's words and wisdom bring a blessed clarity and authentic empowerment to women and their feminine vocation. TALK 3 "And she treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." Have you ever stopped to consider HOW to ponder? Through this talk we will learn the art of pondering and welcome Mary more fully into our daily lives. TALK 4 "The nation...doesn't simply need what we have. It needs what we are." Equipped with a new sense of self-knowledge and with the aid and intercession of St. Edith we are sent forth to carry out the important and necessary mission of women in our world today. Our witness and influence, both individually and collectively has the potential to change the world. Are you ready? |
Edith Stein:
Convert. Philosopher Professor. Carmelite. Martyr. Saint. Saint Edith Stein went beyond the limitations of her time of what woman achieved. Her life and writings show women a path to live authentically, reclaim their dignity and know their irreplaceable value. She lived boldly and inspires women to do the same. |
"God is there in these moments of rest and can give us in a single instant exactly what we need. Then the rest of the day can take its course, under the same effort and strain, perhaps, but in peace. And when night comes, and you look back over the day and see how fragmentary everything has been, and how much you planned that has gone undone, and all the reasons you have to be embarrassed and ashamed: just take everything exactly as it is, put it in God’s hands and leave it with Him. Then you will be able to rest in Him -- really rest -- and start the next day as a new life." Saint Edith Stein - Sister Teresa Benedicta of the Cross |
