Parish Nurse Visits & Referrals

Nancy Upmeyer

Picture
I am pleased to serve as St. Mary’s first Parish Nurse.

My plans for the parish nurse position are to  gather a needs list of health related concerns within our parish, to organize our parish health professionals to assist with various wellness programming offered, and identify parish members that may need assistance or guidance regarding physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of their well-being.

We will continue Blood Pressure Screenings, to promote the walking program in our parish hall and be
available for parish members who may need assistance with health concerns or are in need of a referral to a health care agency.   I hope to assist Father with visiting the sick and homebound. We will continue to offer bereavement support  through promotion of  the Grief share Program that was very successful last summer and is soon to begin
after the first of the year.   I will continue to visit our parish members with communion on Sunday mornings who are unable to come to Mass. I am particularly interested in setting up programs that provide health promotion and socialization to our more isolated parishioners.

If you or someone you know is in need of help or counsel regarding health concerns, please
Contact  Nancy Upmeyer through email or phone  319-331-1553
